Price is an indicative range, not a quote. Real cost depends on your roof height and access (scaffolding), the panels, inverter and battery specified, and any roof or electrical works — which is why a free survey confirms an exact fixed price, agreed upfront in writing. Range shown includes installation at the 0% VAT rate currently applying to domestic solar; it excludes scaffolding beyond a standard two-storey install, any charges from your local electricity network operator, and any roof repairs.
Performance assumes about 950 units (kWh) a year for every 1kW of panels — typical for southern England — electricity bought at 27p a unit, and 15p a unit for power you export under the Smart Export Guarantee. Payback is simply price ÷ annual saving — it doesn’t account for future energy price rises (which shorten it) or panel degradation. Battery storage lets you use more of your own generation — and can keep essentials running in a power cut with house backup.
